State Project No. 0110-0136 includes improvements along Route 6 in the Town of Plymouth between Prospect Street and Baldwin Park Lane. The purpose of the project is to improve the operations at the intersections of Route 6 with South Main Street, North Main Street and Agney Avenue. Construction began on the project in spring 2022. During paving operations in fall 2023, it was discovered that the original ground survey model used to develop the project design contained inaccuracies. Construction of the major roadway work has been paused while the survey is corrected, and the design reviewed and updated to ensure roadway, driveway, and sidewalk grading are constructed correctly. During this time, the Department of Transportation has also identified some potential improvements that could be made, such as extending streetscaping and illumination through the project limits. Designers are currently working with the Town of Plymouth leadership to incorporate these improvements. At this time, it is anticipated that the design will be complete by winter 2024. Construction is expected to resume in spring 2025 and completed in 2026 based on this current schedule.
